ABSTRACT
The agricultural sector is pivotal in sustaining global food security, economic growth, and rural development. With the world population projected to reach approximately 9.7 billion by 2050, there is an urgent need to increase agricultural productivity and sustainability. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has emerged as a transformative tool ………………..not more than 500 words
1. Importance of ICT in Agriculture
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a crucial role in modernizing agriculture, enhancing productivity, and ensuring sustainability. ICT tools, such as mobile apps, GPS, and data analytics, provide farmers with real-time access to weather forecasts, market prices, and best practices, helping them make informed decisions. It also facilitates precision farming, reducing waste, optimizing resources, and improving crop yields. ICT supports knowledge sharing and connects farmers to extension services, financial institutions, and supply chains. By bridging the information gap, ICT helps improve food security, reduce poverty, and make agriculture more resilient to climate change and other challenges
